Peter Schaper

Peter Schaper has been an integral part of FCT for the past three seasons, bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise in racquet sports. He holds professional certifications from the RSPA in tennis, pickleball, and paddle tennis. As a junior player, Peter won CT state titles in both singles and doubles, was consistently ranked among the top 10 in New England and secured a national brother-sister championship title at Flushing Meadows. Peter played Division 1 tennis for Penn State University, where he helped elevate the team's national NCAA ranking to 20, and then for Auburn University where he achieved national rankings of 6th, 11th, and 14th. After college, Peter was Director at Westport Tennis Club for 9 years. Peter also directed Milford Indoor Tennis for five seasons and worked as a teaching pro at both Trumbull Racquet Club and Tennis Club of Trumbull for 5 years each. Peter's expertise culminated with a 15-year tenure as Racquets Director at the Fairfield County Hunt Club where he managed tennis, paddle, and pickleball programs, significantly expanding the club’s competitive league to 11 teams. Peter Schaper is eager to share his extensive background, passion for teaching, and dedication to player development with FCT as a highly respected figure in the racquet sports community.
